Oman VAT and Income Tax News
Oman VAT implementation from 16 April 2021
Royal Decree 121/2020 has been published in Official Gazzette on 18 October 2020 and VAT will be implemented from 16 April 2021. Oman Tax Authority is mandated to issue Executive Regulations of VAT within six months.

Oman VAT registration starts from 01 Feb 2021
First to register will be businesses with an annual turnover of over RO 1 million. They must register between February 1 and March 15, 2021.
For businesses with a turnover of over RO 500,000, the deadline for registration is July 1, 2021.
VAT is an indirect tax on most goods and is levied on the value-added of business operations, which is the difference between the final price of a commodity and the cost of materials and services.

Cbc reporting deferred to 30 April 2021 in Oman
Oman Tax Authority extended the deadline to April 30 2021, for specially designated persons (Multinational Entities) to file their notifications for the Reporting Fiscal Year ending on December 31, 2020.
